Bob Hartmann frames the Coalition work as having absolutely been outside convention and against the grain, in large part due to Bill Dow’s talent at generating and following through with big, extraordinary ideas. He then elucidates one of his favorite memories of this fearless SHC leader, telling of the fundraising trip Bob took with Bill to New York and D.C. Given the “not mainstream” nature of Bill’s ideas and subsequent SHC work, Bob’s closing thoughts segue into the complex formation of the more institutionalized entity that became the Center for Health Services (CHS). See the full length panel discussion to learn more about the complex origins of the institutionalized Center and its relationship to the student-led Coalition.
