This collection of records includes administrative papers from several divisions of the 1933 federally established corporation, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), such as correspondence, general reports, financial statements, work stoppages and strikes records, cartographic records, photographs, and audiovisual recordings of daily operations and special projects. These span from 1917-1994 with the bulk created between 1933-1986. Records document TVA’s “unified program of resource conservation, development, and use in the Tennessee River Valley [which] encourages economic development in the region.” Subjects range from ecology, flood control, natural resources, and nuclear power.
