Woodland Community Land Trust

WCLT’s mission is to secure a land base that will allow for diversified housing options, sustainable income production opportunities, social and education service, and for cohesive community development for economically disadvantaged families throughout the Clearfork Valley. Marie Cirillo and local partners established WCLT in 1977, making it the second oldest community land trust in the United States.

They have partnered with Grow Appalachia (Berea College) to provide seeds, plants, and education for food production.  The seeds and plants help folks have their own gardens. Food insecurity is an on-going challenge, and funds help supply blessing boxes and seeds and plants to serve additional families.
