The Alliance for Appalachia is a coalition of 18 member organizations and was founded in 2006 to strengthen the region’s effort to end mountaintop removal coal mining. Our mission is to promote a healthy, just Appalachia by supporting our member organizations in communities impacted by destructive resource extraction.
Our member organizations include some of the most experienced organizations in Appalachia. All member organizations share goals to create a sustainable Appalachian future and to mitigate the damages created from resource extraction.
